Geometry Eye Tracking

Geometry Interface to Test Eye-Tracking of Novices

Note: See a prototype of my interface here.

The Gist  : Build an interface in Flash (Actionscript 2.0) to test eye-tracking of novices as they learn geometry theorems.

The Process  : Built as an independent study class under Dr. Vincent Aleven, I'm looking to explore how eye-tracking movement may differ between novices and experts. First, I investigated current literature on eye-tracking, how it's measured, and whether interfaces for education have used eye-tracking data. Finding this is a new space for education research, I built an interface using Actionscript 2.0 in Flash to create an interactive space to help novices understand the key aspects of a diagram related to a theorem, specifically the Exterior Angle Theorem

Skills Practiced  : Literature Review, Flash, Actionscript 2.0, User Testing, Eye-tracking Analysis and Practice, Experiment Design
